IAT Insurance Group has an immediate opening for an Assistant Vice President, State Filings & Reporting. This role works a hybrid schedule out of an IAT office located in Raleigh, NC. Occasional travel is required. This role will be required to work from the Raleigh, NC office Monday through Wednesday with the option of working remotely Thursday and Friday.

The Assistant Vice President, State Filings & Reporting oversees and manages statutory company licensing requirements and filings by leading a small collaborative and effective team. A team that manages statistical reporting, premium tax filings, bureau and plan reporting and assessments in order to maintain statutory company licensure. The ideal candidate will be recognized as an influential leader.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides leadership to assigned staff by leading organizational change; developing and empowering staff; cultivating relationships; putting staff in a position to succeed, meeting their personal career goals while also achieving organizational goals; building effective teams that apply their diverse skills and perspectives to achieve common goals; driving engagement and creating a climate where staff are motivated to do their best.
  • Assures that all companies are in compliance with all applicable Federal, State, and industry laws, regulations, and standards regarding licensure.
  • Confers with management staff to identify and correct potential areas of non-compliance and anticipate future compliance requirements regarding licensure.
  • Remains abreast of laws and regulations that might affect the organization's policies and procedures and notifies appropriate company management. Instructs and directs IT personnel in the systemization of any new product, state expansion or regulatory mandated change of existing products.
  • Manages and reviews the statistical reporting of premiums and losses for all business units.
  • May serve as liaison between organization and State insurance departments as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Must Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least ten years of relevant experience or equivalent.
  • Equivalent is considered fourteen years of relevant industry experience
  • Experience developing corporate and/or organizational policies and authorizes their implementation.
  • Experience providing direction to subordinate managers in various areas, groups, and/or operations.
  • Experience creating an environment the allows for innovative concepts and promoting new ideas.
  • Strong knowledge of insurance policy contract structures.
  • Strong knowledge of actuarial concepts and pricing approaches.
  • Solid knowledge of management information used throughout the organization.
  • Good project management skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to influence cross functional teams without formal authority.
  • Ability to problem-solve and make recommendations.
  • To qualify, all applicants must be authorized to work in the United States and must not require, now or in the future, VISA sponsorship for employment purposes.

Preferred:

  • Masters degree
  • CPCU, ARM, or AU industry designations a plus.
