The Department of Orthopaedics at the University of Maryland School of Medicine is actively recruiting for an Associate Administrator, Clinical Practice, to join our dynamic and growing team in Baltimore, Maryland. This leadership position will be responsible for providing a high degree of organizational oversight, integration, and coordination of care services between the clinical practice and other related departmental and organizational entities. Reporting directly to the Executive Administrator, under the auspices of the Chair and key stakeholders, this position will look for opportunities to encourage service innovation, standardize processes, and leverage data, metrics, and technology so that the Department’s clinical practice is efficient and consistent regardless of level of service. This position will focus on engaging and aligning individual and departmental performance priorities to establish an integrated and multidisciplinary clinical practice with a direct emphasis on quality of care and service.
Scope/Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the oversight of the patient experience through the practice
- Direct oversight of the functional clinical activities of the department:
- Patient access
- Patient safety
- Operating room Utilization
- Practice site management
- Patient experience / satisfaction (Press Ganey)
- Collect and understand quality data and benchmarks resulting in actional improvements to enhance clinical outcomes
- Interacts with medical and administrative staff to ensure compliance
- Responsible for the development of dashboard and scorecard results including patient satisfaction tracking, physician productivity reports, and specific service metrics.
- Improve processes to identify and support new initiatives and provide information and improvements to leadership
- Collaborate with Department Finance team with implementing budget, tracking actual resource utilization and satellite practice expenditures
- Support multi facility operations and share management reports
- Participate actively with key initiatives, presentations and advisory committees
- Act as a liaison in discussions with business partners
Support the multi sub-specialty service lines within the Department of Orthopaedics: Adult Reconstruction, Shoulder and Elbow, Lower Extremity and Foot/Ankle, Spine Care, Pediatric Orthopaedics, Surgical Podiatry, Sports Medicine (including Primary Care Sports Medicine), Musculoskeletal Oncology, Hand, Orthopaedic Trauma, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Acupuncture.
