Required Qualifications
- The position requires:
- Doctoral degree in Nursing from an institution with national accreditation in Nursing (CCNE or NLNAC),
- A current Florida registered nursing (RN or ARNP) license or eligibility to receive the license,
- The position requires the following work experience:
- Three years teaching nursing in higher education,
- Four years of hospital-based patient care as a nurse, and
- Four years of related administrative experience.

The purpose of this position is to manage the HCC Nursing program related to faculty, staff, student progression in the program and day to day operations of the program. The Director represents the program in the HCC and healthcare community and maintains accreditation of the program abiding by national accreditation standards and the rules and policies of the Florida Board of Nursing. Supervises, coordinates, and directs the daily administrative functions of an assigned department to ensure efficient office and program operations.

Supervises, assigns, schedules, and evaluates assigned staff and full-time faculty. Assists in developing and coordinating staff and faculty development and trains employs as needed. Assists in writing, reviewing and updating policies and procedures related to the Nursing program. Prepares reports and assists the division Dean in other program functions as assigned.
- Management of student progression in the program- admission, status during program through graduation in accordance with national accreditation standards and HCC nursing program policies.
- In conjunction with the Program Manager, supervise the hiring, evaluation and scheduling of part-time adjunct faculty.
- Manage the hiring, evaluation and scheduling of staff utilized in the nursing program. Writes job descriptions for new staff positions.
- Coordinates clinical component of the nursing program interacting with community healthcare partners and Tampa Bay schools of nursing. Collaborating with the Program manager, coordinates scheduling and staffing faculty for clinical portion of nursing program related to state and accreditation agency standards and policies.
- Cooperates with faculty in the management of the nursing program curriculum for the BSN and ASN nursing programs. Creates semester schedules and makes faculty assignments to meet scheduling needs. Assists with curriculum review and revision in accordance with HCC Academic Affairs policies. Ensures national accreditation standards and state curriculum guidelines are met related to curriculum for both the BSN and ASN nursing programs.
- Represents HCC Nursing within the HCC community, the Tampa healthcare community and in state and national meetings.
- Manages student concerns according to Nursing program policies and HCC policies. Communicates with students on all campuses to provide access to nursing administration and creates a weekly student bulletin to share program information.
- Collaborates with the Dean of Health Sciences to prepare and manage program budget. Communicates the needs of the faculty related to budget items.
- Plan and attend HCC events to represent the nursing program. Participate in college wide committees as well as division committees.
- Work collaboratively within the Health Science division with Health Science Department Chairs, the Dean, and his staff
- Prepares accreditation reports for national accreditation organization for nursing , the HCC accreditation organization and HCC committees. Works to actively seek grant opportunities and subsequently managing grant funding opportunities to sustain, enhance, and/or expand the HCC nursing programs.
