We are looking for Associate Director of Revenue to join our team! You would partner with Sales, Legal, Sales Operations and Finance to fulfill the specific responsibilities in the areas of revenue recognition and the associated controls under ASC 606 / GAAP/ IFRS. You will have significant leadership accountability and will be responsible for managing all aspects of day-to-day accounting and order-to-cash operations for revenue operations, including contract review for proper revenue recognition, and managing billing and collections processes. You must have strong organization and communication skills and be the champion in our drive for continuous process improvement.

Requirements

Your Main Tasks Will Be:

  • Manage worldwide revenue processes and procedures, including billing, collections, and revenue recognition to ensure compliance with IFRS and US GAAP
  • Lead system automation initiatives including implementation of the Microsoft Dynamics ERP module and other systems as appropriate
  • Oversee the preparation and maintenance of accounting records, monthly accounting close activities and accounting variance analysis, ensuring timely, accurate and robust reporting in all revenue areas and compliance with our accounting policies, IFRS and US GAAP
  • Provide thought leadership, guidance, and strategy on technical revenue recognition matters, including contract reviews and structuring of non-standard sales transactions
  • Participate in cross-functional and company-wide initiatives to ensure timely contract review and approval processes are followed, proper documentation is in place for orders and agreements, and that accounting requirements and financial impacts are identified
  • Actively participate with sales management and legal counsel to drive the review and evaluation of deal structures to ensure that terms and conditions include revenue-recognition appropriate language; respond to customer and partner inquiries while promoting and maintaining positive customer relations
  • Build and manage a successful revenue team; Inspire, and mentor a team of committed professionals
  • Identify issues that could adversely impact revenue recognition and communicate a balanced view to commercial and executive management for appropriate decision making
  • Provide oversight and review to the creation of revenue policies to define the accounting positions for various revenue streams
  • Effectively partner with sales and operational teams to understand business, system or process changes that will support growth and scalability and positively affect internal controls and/or financial results
  • Gather and communicate ongoing business process trends and proposed needed solutions
  • Improve internal controls to ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley 404; maintain required documentation and support the testing of order-to-cash cycle controls

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in a revenue accounting role - software/SaaS/life science experience preferred
  • Detailed knowledge of relevant revenue accounting rules under IFRS and ASC 606 relating to software, SaaS and services revenue recognition and complex arrangements
  • Leadership experience and demonstrated ability to manage teams, drive process improvements
  • B.S. and/or MS in Business Administration or Accounting; CPA or CMA certificate preferred but not required
  • Proven proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook); must be highly proficient in Excel
  • A customer focus - the ability to help internal stakeholders articulate their needs and generate outputs that will drive business decisions
  • A thorough understanding of the sales process and the ability to navigate and progress long, complex sales cycles
  • Strong analytical and business acumen with excellent communication skills – verbal and written
  • Adept at business partnering and working with cross-functional teams, building meaningful business relationships along the way
  • Self-motivated, confident, good judgment, energy and personality to work in a fast-paced environment across all levels of management, functions, and geographies
  • Microsoft Dynamics ERP experience a major plus
