This position will work closely with the Dean and Director of Land Grant Programs as well as with other members of the leadership team to provide day-to-day leadership, and management of Langston University's Cooperative Extension Program, and Educational Outreach Unit. The Cooperative Extension Program is the public service/outreach arm of Langston University School of Agriculture's Land Grant Program. The Land Grant Program includes but is not limited to the following Departments/program areas: Agriculture and Natural Resources (including agribusiness, natural resources, crops production, small ruminant production), Family and Consumer Sciences (including Child Development), Aquaculture, Biotechnology, Community Economic Development, and 4-H and Youth Development.

This position is a split appointment with 50% of time dedicated to administrative duties and 30% of time dedicated to programming in the incumbent's area of expertise/discipline and 20% pedagogy.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assists with providing leadership to Extension and Educational Outreach staff and other stakeholders
Assists with providing leadership to Extension and Educational Outreach staff in overall program design, development, delivery and evaluation.
Work across all three areas of the Land Grant Mission (Teaching, Research, Cooperative Extension).
Helps to maintains an effective Extension program in the incumbent's discipline or area of expertise; Works with county staff and colleagues at other universities in delivery of programs.
Assist with development of a new strategic plan for extension/outreach.
Develop Grant proposals.
Prepares reports and documentations to the US Department of Agriculture and the University as required.
Serves on local, state and national extension committees, task forces and university committees as requested.
Supervises extension and outreach program staff (main campus and county), which includes work allocation, training, and problem resolution; evaluates performance and makes recommendations for personnel actions; motivates employees to achieve peak productivity and performance.
Maintains knowledge of client needs based on data analysis.
