About the job:
The Red Hat Engineering team is looking for an Associate Manager, Content Services to join us. In this role, you will play a critical role in making Red Hat's product documentation a competitive differentiator. As part of a global team, you will work with your peers around the world to lead our strategic initiatives to develop customer-centric content that supports Red Hat's subscriber base. To succeed in this role, you’ll need experience in managing teams in a high tech, fast-paced environment combined with a passion for improving the customer experience. This is a people leader role and your focus will be on supporting and growing an inclusive and diverse team of technical writers. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business.
What you will do:
  • Partner with your peers to ensure that project needs are met to satisfaction and that each associate has appropriate, challenging assignments that contribute to team goals
  • Build a diverse team of writers equipped with the ability to contribute to team and departmental goals
  • Provide direction, coaching, and mentoring to increase your team's capabilities and effectiveness, to develop their competencies, and to ensure they are meeting the goals and expectations of their role
  • Develop understanding of customer needs and company goals in order to organize and coach the team
  • Assess team capacity against strategic business goals.
  • Coordinate with your peers worldwide to ensure global collaboration and consistency in execution of tasks
  • Lead initiatives through your team’s daily work that support the broader company objectives, e.g., working with our Global Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion team, Document Engineering team, or customer-facing stakeholders across the business.
  • Manage collaboration efforts between technical writers and customer-facing technical associates, like Global Support Services and other field personnel
What you will bring:
  • Experience coaching, mentoring, or leading people in a collaborative environment
  • Demonstrated record of improving internal or external customer experiences
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with and passion for leading change and continuous improvement
