- Actively leads projects, project teams and firmwide initiatives
- Directly trains and mentors team members
- Leads meetings and maintains relationships with clients and external consultants
- Actively engages in internal and external professional development opportunities
- Leads in the development of standards, policies, and procedures
- Protects SOM from financial and legal risks
- Demonstrates advanced knowledge of ASHRAE standards and building codes for ventilation, humidity control, load calculations, and duct sizing techniques
- Demonstrates advanced knowledge of key performance parameters for air handlers, pumps, chillers, temperature controls, ductwork accessories, heat exchangers and tanks
- Demonstrates knowledge of key architectural considerations for HVAC equipment such as fan room sizing, shaft sizing, clearances, ceiling, and interstitial space constraints
- Demonstrates knowledge of key electrical considerations for HVAC equipment such as voltage and phase, motor design, variable frequency drives, disconnect devices, low voltage requirements, and separation of HVAC and electrical equipment
- Demonstrates knowledge of key plumbing and fire protection design considerations
- Demonstrates general understanding of sustainable strategies and principles that can be applied to high performance projects
- Demonstrates advanced knowledge of Revit LEED and WELL accreditations preferred
- Familiarity with LEED, WELL and other green building rating systems required
- Completion of a professional degree in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering or a related field
- PE licensure required
- Minimum 10 years of professional experience in mechanical discipline

Compensation for this role is based upon experience, qualifications, location, and education and typically ranges from $95,000 - $125,000.
