Associate Professor Job at Marquette University
The Department of Computer Science welcomes applications for an Assistant/Associate Professor of Practice (open rank) to begin Fall of 2023. We are particularly interested in candidates who can serve as Director of our graduate Computer & Information Science program and support the continued success of this nationally-ranked program. The successful candidate will have a passion for the role of computer and information science across different sectors, local and regional connections with industry and other related stakeholders, and a demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence.
Duties and Responsibilities
Duties include administrative and teaching activities. As director of the CIS program, this role will lead and influence the continued success of our graduate Computer & Information Science program, including assisting with curriculum development, instructor development, student recruitment, and strengthening relationships with industry and other strategic partners. As an instructor, standard duties include preparing syllabi and teaching plans, conducting class sessions, preparing, administering, and grading class assessments, record midterm and final course grades.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Masters Degree preferred or substantial progress toward the terminal degree.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Doctoral degree in Computer Science or a related field, and teaching experience at a college level
