Location: Onsite, Irvine CA

Client is seeking a highly motivated and organized candidate for the role of Associate Scientist I The successful candidate for this position will work as part of a team, as well as independently, with guidance from their supervisor to contribute to the planning and execution of in vivo pharmacology models in a discovery research environment.

• The candidate will coordinate and participate in in vivo pharmacology studies to investigate diseases of the skin.
• She/He/They will primarily be required to handle laboratory animals and conduct in vivo experiments in rodents.
• The candidate will carry out all aspects of in vivo pharmacology studies including, planning and coordination of simultaneous in vivo studies, preparation of reagents and ordering of supplies, dosing, anesthesia, injections, imaging, and be responsible for welfare of animals in their care.
• The candidate is expected to participate in discussions regarding the design and execution of experiments with the team. The candidate will be guided in consultation with management, and will primarily be responsible for coordinating preparation, organization, and execution of in vivo experiments with the team.
• The position requires the candidate to productively interact with cross-functional and matrixed teams. The individual will collaborate extensively with other Research Scientists and Associates, while taking initiative and personal responsibility for the success of assigned tasks and projects.
• She/He/They must be skilled in communicating and collaborating with discovery project team members at all grade levels and with diverse background, skill sets, and levels of expertise.
• The candidate will maintain a productive and inclusive collaborative laboratory environment consistent with department and company expectations.
• She/He/They must conduct all work activities in compliance with client international and applicable regulatory requirements with strict adherence to safety policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Execute in vivo pharmacology studies in rodents.
• Perform routine tasks competently and independently to generate reliable and consistent results.
• Maintain accurate, and detailed technical records (protocols, supply inventory, etc.).
• Learn and understand new experimental techniques.
• Troubleshoot experimental techniques and instrumentation.
• Demonstrate skill in multiple techniques and appropriately modify protocols as required to suit the changing needs of research.
• Communicate effectively with team to efficiently perform multiple activities/ projects simultaneously.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree (Biology or equivalent).
• Experience with in vivo rodent models (6 months or more) is required.

Specialized Knowledge and Skills:

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Demonstrates effective use of software, such as Word, Excel, data acquisition systems, document management software, etc.
• Molecular Biology experience preferred.

Job Type: Contract

Salary: $25.70 - $33.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Day shift
