Automotive Technician Job at Powell's Transmission Center
Pay Starting from $19/Hour, increases depending on experience in field, benefits are available, family flexible, paid vacation, room to grow. Steady 40 hours a week with optional overtime if desired. Never laid off, never lack work.
Our shop located in Bentleyville PA is looking to hire skilled mechanics to maintain and repair cars and light to medium trucks. You will be responsible for diagnosing vehicles (we supply diagnostic tools and any special tools needed) as well as fixing minor to major issues. We are looking for employees who take pride in their work, are willing to learn and grow, have good communication skills and can adapt to problem solving situations.
Responsibilities
- Must have own basic tools
- Inspect vehicle engine and mechanical/electrical components to diagnose issues accurately with scan tool/ etc.
- Inspect vehicle computer and electronic systems to repair, maintain and upgrade
- Conduct routine maintenance work (replacing fluids, lubricating parts, tires, brakes (etc.)
- Remove and install Transmission and Transfer Case units in a timely and efficient manner
- Keep shop clean and tools in good condition
Skills
- Proven experience as auto mechanic
- Knowledge of mechanical, electrical and electronic components of vehicles
- Working knowledge of vehicle diagnostic systems and methods
- Ability to handle various tools (e.g. pliers) and heavy equipment (e.g. lift)
- Willingness to observe all safety precautions for protections against accidents, dangerous fluids, chemicals etc.
- Good physical condition
- Willing to learn
