Back and Front Office Medical Assistant Job at Urgent Care Now

We are looking for a skilled and organized Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. You will perform a combination of various administrative and clinical tasks. Greet patients warmly and kindly on the phone and in person, make them feel welcome. Efficiently check patients in and out. Verify insurance and collect co-payments. Must have good verbal and written communication skills. Able to read, understand, and follow oral and written instructions. Demonstrate compassion to patients.
Clinical duties include taking patient medical histories, recording patient vital signs, preparing patients for examination, and assisting the physician during examinations. When necessary, you will also administer vaccinations, perform phlebotomy and process prescriptions to be filled at the patient’s preferred pharmacy. Ability to calm upset patients and resolve their issues. Experience preferred but not required.
Medical Assistant Duties and Responsibilities
- Greet patients, answer phone calls, respond to patient questions, check in patients, obtain necessary patient information to file and update patient records, and ensure all forms and consents are completed by patients
- Prepare patients for examination, take vitals, and record patients' health history
- Assist in procedures and examinations
- Take and record patient vitals
- Set-up EKG machines, administer injections and medications, phlebotomy and perform routine specimen collection and tests
- Prepare equipment and examination rooms, and clean instruments
- Assist provider with medical treatments, procedures, and exams
- Manage inventory of medical supplies and equip exam rooms with appropriate supplies
Qualifications
Medical Assistant Certificate (Required).
CPR-BLS (Required)
Language
English (Required)
Spanish (Preferred)
Education
High School Diploma or GED (required)
*Hourly rate will be based on the level of experience.

Pay: $16.50 - $20.00 per hour
