Specific Job Knowledge and Skills:

The core Duties & Responsibilities of a Barista/Bartender:

To serve our guests in accordance with Marriott standards of Food and Beverage quality, presentation and sanitation, in a gracious and professional manner. To take pride in all aspects of service, quality, appearance and cleanliness towards yourself and your area of responsibility.

• Greet and welcome guests in a friendly and professional manner.
• Be knowledgeable of all menu items, their garnish, contents and preparation methods. Be prepared to answer any guest questions about the menu in a direct, concise way. Know the use records.
• Know proper beverage, liquor and wine service.
• Grind and blend coffee beans, brew and make coffee, tea and specialty drinks, highlighting the difference between items, and educating guests about brewing methods.
• Follow procedures to take guest's order; write legibly on check, order and pick up food as applicable.
• Have available the Marriott standard recipes, beverage department standard operating procedures, sanitation checklist and other relevant paperwork and forms.
• Accept drink orders from food and beverage servers in proper calling order to keep service bar at optimum level of service for our guest.

· Promote and recommend menu options, specials or new items to guests.

• Check station assigned before checking out for cleanliness of tables and chairs and proper set-up.
• Maintain a clean, sanitized and well-stocked workspace, dining and seating area, equipment and utensils.
• Follow policies and procedures for self-cashiering, to include responsibility for explaining over/short discrepancies, where applicable.
• Be able to operate the Point of Sales (POS) equipment.
• Review checks to ensure order is correct and that pricing is correct.
• Receive, restock and maintain inventory of equipment and supplies: schedule repairs as needed.
• Comply with all brand audits and guest satisfaction benchmarks.

Qualifications:

· High school diploma or GED required.

· Hotel and Barista experience desired.

Language Skills:

· Must have developed language skills to the point to be able to: Read & understand the English language.
