Barista & Coffee Lover Job at Boxwood Coffee Roasters
Boxwood Coffee is a family run, specialty coffee shop and roaster located in Westfield, NJ and Summit, NJ. We are passionate about serving high quality coffee and tea using various brewing techniques to bring out the best flavor possible. We believe in supporting our local community and fellow business owners by sourcing food and products locally and hosting events such as open mic night, trivia night, writing workshops, coffee tastings, etc. to bring the community together. We are looking for energetic and friendly individuals who have an interest in learning more about coffee.
Essential barista functions include:
- Greet customers, fill food & beverage orders, and provide information about products
- Spend time learning about coffee and tea preparation
- Educate/inform customers about beverages and preparation
- Accurately process transactions through the POS system
- Clean store and keep products stocked
- Enjoy interacting with customers and working in a team environment
Qualifications:
- Ability to interact with the customers and coworkers in a friendly, enthusiastic and outgoing manner
- Ability to speak, read, and write English fluently
- Basic math skills in order to handle cash
- A desire to learn more about coffee and tea as well as various brewing techniques.
- Prior customer service experience
Full and part time positions are available. We are looking for candidates who are planning on working into the fall. NO SUMMER HIRES.
