The Bartender is responsible for maintaining the bar area, providing friendly and professional hospitality to guests, crafting beverages according guest specifications, and processing payment. The bartender also plays a key role on the Canoe Hut team, holding responsibilities such as assisting with ordering for liquor, beer, food, and wine as well as closing duties.  

Core Responsibilities:

The core responsibility of the bartender is to take guest orders and process payment. A list of specific duties is as follows:

• Make drinks according to guest specifications and provided recipe cards
• Guide guests through food and beverage menus, providing thoughtful recommendations and creating conversation when appropriate   
• Prepare food orders as outlined by recipe card
• Restock all beverages including wine, beer, liquor, and mixers when needed 
• Change kegs and check C02 levels
• Maintain stock of glassware, napkins, and other service ware 
• Prepare garnishes for beverages and store in accordance with food safety standards 
• Run beverage orders to tables within the lounge
•  Assist in ordering beer, wine and liquor using order guide sheets 
• Collaborate with hotel colleagues as well as management
• Complete daily cleaning and weekly deep cleaning tasks according to provided lists  
• Respond to guest complaints or problems with a proactive and positive attitude 
• Utilizes POS system to process payments  
• Count and maintain cash drawer  
• Controls use of supplies to optimize profitability
