Position Summary:
The Total Rewards Specialist will serve as a partner responsible for the implementation and administration of all company benefit programs including but not limited to welfare benefit plans, retirement, and safety and wellness. This role serves as a Subject Matter Expert for LHHP leading the day-to-day education, interpretation and administration of LHHP’s total rewards and sponsored programs regarding plan options, policy features, enrollment, and other requirements. This individual will bring a proactive, continuous improvement approach to this role and provide employee centric service.

Benefits Administration
Manage all day-to-day benefits operations for employees in partnership with the VP – Human Resources
Collaborate with benefits broker to resolve employee questions or issues in a timely, professional fashion
Communicate with a diverse employee base to help educate and guide employee decisions surrounding benefits
Ensure there is clarity on program and project management in the function with a divide and conquer approach (e.g., Open Enrollment, Leave Management, 401k Committee, annual strategic initiatives, etc.)
Support further adoption of high-quality Benefits and examine lower quality /underperforming Benefits for change
Administers and maintains benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, leave of absence, and retirement plans.
Prepares reports and applications required by law to be filed with federal and state agencies, such as the Internal Revenue Service, Department of Labor, and other regulatory agencies
Review and analyze changes to state and federal laws pertaining to benefits, and report necessary or suggest changes to management for consideration.
Prepare census data for payroll, insurance carriers, and management.
Plans and manages the development and distribution of benefit materials for open enrollment process, including plan changes, system updates, and coordinates the implementation and roll-out of Wellness programs.
Interprets benefit policies, reviews claims, and ensures all required forms and legal documents are supplied.
Assists in the procurement and evaluation of bids for services or benefit programs.
Coordinates and organizes all medical information and ensures that HIPAA and Employee Privacy guidelines are closely monitored and effectively executed in the review of leave cases. Performs other duties as assigned.
Assists and provides support in the administration of payroll. Acts as a back-up to HR Coordinator related to payroll processing.

Safety
Investigates and reports accidents and incidents, including any follow-ups to insure corrective action.
Maintains regulatory compliance reporting, recordkeeping and monitoring (OSHA, EPA, FMCSA and DOT).
Collaborates with department leaders to Investigates accident and completes or verifies accident reports. Maintain and analyze records of workplace injuries, illness, and absences to identify areas of concern.
Educate and train the organization’s workforce on health and safety policies and standards and occupational health and safety programs
Monitor and advise on technical and regulatory program requirements for occupational health and safety as needed to comply with OSHA, MSHA, DOT, and various other regulatory agencies
Manage worker's compensation

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or related field
  • Human Resources certification preferred: CEBS, PHR or SHRM-CP
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of successfully administering and implementing total reward programs in compliance regulation and law.
  • Knowledgeable regarding health and welfare benefits and standard healthcare regulations such as ERISA, COBRA, ACA, HIPAA, EEOC, FLSA, etc.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint and willingness to learn new software applications.
  • Strong organizational ability with excellent judgement and decision-making skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriately handle sensitive information with tact and discretion

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $65,000.00 per year
