The Bilingual Financial Literacy Coach, under the direction of the Executive Director of Financial Aid, will oversee the creation of a coordinated financial literacy program and provide a broad range of relevant activities.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver culturally relevant financial literacy content and products to a diverse student population.
  • Design programming in conjunction with key project stakeholders to infuse financial literacy into high-impact practices and experiential learning opportunities.
  • Coordinate with the Graham School of Management in the development of a financial literacy course that covers topics such as personal money management, student loan repayment strategies, investment instruments and retirement planning.
  • Implement and administer the financial literacy smartphone application tool, which teaches financial skills in a student-friendly format.
  • Integrate financial counseling with student housing circumstances, academic goals, extracurricular plans and career objectives.
  • Provide information, advice, and counseling using knowledge of federal, state, and institutional financial aid policies and regulations.
  • Model, support, and facilitate quality customer service.
  • Participate in University activities, such as orientation, recruitment events, and recognition events.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required, Master's preferred. Relevant experience may substitute for the degree requirement on a year-for-year basis.
  • 2 or more years of experience in financial aid administration, or related experience preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, and organizational skills, particularly in file documentation and database accuracy.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) with the fluency required to communicate complex financial matters in English and Spanish.
  • Strong computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office products; knowledge of financial aid software and Colleague preferred.
