We are seeking a Billing Specialist with a high attention to detail and demonstrated ability to thrive in a high-paced, multi-faceted work environment to join our team. Reporting to the Revenue Cycle Manager, this position is responsible for performing day to day billing of invoices/medical claims and timely collection of accounts receivable balances while providing support to the Business Office.

Responsibilities

· Assists with verification of benefits information to determine coordination of benefits/funder order via phone, fax, email, or online portal.

· Utilizes census reports to prepare and process invoices and medical claim forms accurately. Submits invoices and medical claim forms to appropriate funding source by mail, fax, email or online portal according to funding source requirements.

· Completes regular and ongoing review of aging reports for assigned companies. Researches outstanding balances and conducts follow up phone calls to funding sources to collect balances timely.

· Meets with Manager regularly to review outstanding balances and keeps Manager apprised of any potential risk in accounts receivable balances.

· Works diligently to meet and exceed Days of Sales Outstanding (DSO) goals and reduce bad debt for assigned companies.

· Participates and supports company auditors by collecting requested information quickly.

· Is knowledgeable and can perform, fill in or assist team members on critical duties and tasks related to their assigned companies as needed. Actively participates in departmental meetings and other ad hoc meetings - providing ideas, comments, concerns, etc. as needed.

Qualifications

· Requires High School diploma or equivalent. Coursework in business, accounting, or medical billing preferred.

· One (1) year experience in accounts receivable or medical insurance billing.

· Demonstrates an ability to exercise good judgment, make quick decisions and effectively solve problems.

· Remains calm under pressure and maintains self-composure/self-control in times of high stress.

· Effective working alone and as a member of a team.

· Demonstrates math skills and an ability to calculate fractions, percentages and ratios.

· Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
