Applicant requirements for the Building Information Modeling (BIM) Technician position include:

• Minimum of a Certificate of Completion of a 6-month minimum Drafting/Revit Certification program. Work experience may be considered as an alternate.
• An Associates Degree in Computer Aided Design & Drafting or other similar program is preferred
• Basic understanding of the fundamentals of drafting (e.g. adjusting geometry for clarity of 2-D plans)
• Revit proficient
• Familiarity with AutoCAD
• Familiarity with BlueBeam, Microsoft Teams, and Microsoft Excel is a plus

A BIM Technician is expected to hold the following job responsibilities and desired qualities:

• Create accurate, logically assembled BIM models, structural plans, and details per ZFA standards
• Work with engineering staff and Senior BIM Technician or BIM Project Manager to produce BIM models that follow ZFA’s and the project’s Level of Development. The model, drawings, and details shall be clear, complete, concise, correct, and consistent with ZFA Standards
• Work with clients’ Revit or IFC models / CAD files to create backgrounds to be used in the ZFA project file
• Lay out plans and details to scale, check plans and details for fit and/or interference
• Incorporate engineers’ redlines and modifications
• Review own work to assure accuracy and completeness as well as provide input for continual improvement of ZFA drawing presentation firm-wide
• Notify project engineer of any conflicts in structural work as well as between structural and other design team models and drawings
• Work and collaborate internally to meet project due dates
