Pay Range: $76,900.00-$123,000.00 Company Overview:
In compliance with applicable State regulatory authorities, COVID-19 vaccination is mandatory for all MSK staff. Staff working at a MSK New Jersey location must be up to date with COVID-19 vaccination, which includes having completed the primary COVID-19 vaccination series and booster once eligible as mandated by New Jersey State. All New Jersey staff not yet eligible for a booster must receive a booster within 3 weeks of becoming eligible as a condition of continued employment at MSK.

We are seeking a curator to join our data curation team at cBioPortal. Our mission is to identify the large amount of data generated in oncology and help make it available to the broader scientific community.
You Are:
- Passionate about cancer research and its clinical applications.
- An experienced professional with broad domain knowledge in cancer genomics, computational biology, and Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS).
- Eager to learn and apply new technologies and ideas to benefit the entire organization.
- A Collaborator who enjoys being part of a team
You Will:
- Collect, analyze, and interpret information from peer-reviewed scientific journals and/or through direct submissions by applying specific scientific content knowledge.
- Abstract data into the required format and verify for accuracy.
- Review complex, scientific submissions to the database for quality and relevancy;
- Develop documentation regarding the effective use of the data and tools for the user community.
- Maintain quality control and integrity of databases and query tools for data mining as part of a collaborative team based on technical content expertise in a scientific field, such as molecular biology or chemistry.
- Contribute to the preparation of reports and publications regarding research progress by researching data/ statistics and investigating errors or changes in data are accurate.
You Need:
- A Bachelor's degree in a scientific field.
- Strong analytical skills. spreadsheet applications.
- Strong written and oral English communication skills.
- Ability to understand scientific literature
- Knowledge of Python is preferred.
