IT Operations Analyst 2

Major Responsibilities:

  • Actively monitor, analyze, and schedule mainframe and distributed batch processing environments via BMC Control-M EM and Mainframe applications
  • Escalate issues as they arise to application teams
  • Directs batch job output for field using LRS VPS/VPSX software.
  • Configure batch job output for field consumption via CA Express
  • Work with IT applications teams, customers, and hardware/software vendors during incident resolution
  • Direct and or lead in disaster recovery exercises and in the event of a system failure
  • Adhere to ITIL process such as Incident, Problem, and Change management
  • Complete service request, incidents, problems records via ServiceNow Platform
  • Direct and or lead efforts in process improvement, knowledge management processes
  • Create operational procedures, processes, and scripts for team
  • Ability to work on a team
  • Participates in 24x7 on-call rotation
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams on projects and support initiatives
  • Support and analyze SOX testing and data gathering

  • Performs other duties as assigned

Skills/Knowledge Required:

  • Strong hands-on experience in BMC Control M scheduling platform mainframe / distributed or equivalent platform version 9.0.19 or newer
  • Strong hands-on experience with Control M BIM and reporting/forecasting functions
  • Basic to Strong hands-on experience LRS VPS/VPSX software
  • Basic to Strong hands-on experience Computer Associates Deliver Express software.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise mainframe operating systems JCL,TSO, etc.
  • Strong hands-on experience working in an IT operations environment in a supporting role
  • Strong knowledge of JCL, COBOL, Assembler or other programming languages
  • Naturally inquisitive - visible desire to engage to rapidly learn
  • Proactive monitoring status of systems/applications
  • Ability to deliver results in a fast-paced environment

Education:

  • Associates degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent work experience in related field
  • Certifications desired in area of responsibility. Candidates with commensurate experience considered
  • ITIL foundational certification strongly preferred

Experience:

  • 2 to 5 years of experience prefer working in an IT Operations / production scheduling related environment
  • 2 to 5 years of experience preferred working in a large ($1B or greater) corporate environments
  • 2 to 5 years’ experience preferred but not required working with cross-functional teams and heavily matrixed organizations
