TITLE: Youth Development Professional
REPORTS TO: Site Supervisor/ Site Director
HOURS: Part-Time (M-F)
LOCATION: Indian Creek Academy
COMPENSATION: Starting at $10/hr. (DOE)
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Engage and inspire young people aged 6 – 12 to learn and grow to be responsible adults. Assist in the core programs of the Club (led by the Program Coordinators) by developing and facilitating programs and activities that support the organizations standards. Must monitor and evaluate situations quickly using good judgements to assess situations and make decisions. Create and maintain a safe environment for members and adults within the program space.
KEY ROLES:
1. Work for a specific Supervisor and follow through on the Supervisor’s request for their program, either by carrying out the plans themselves or aiding the Supervisor.
2. Be responsible for planning an organized activity in open areas they are assigned.
3. Be responsible for establishing a safe environment for Club members, regardless of activity or location.
4. Demonstrate maturity and responsibility, respect and high character in their talk, Club staff relationships, their tasks and their image while on and off the clock.
5. Be responsible for holding all Club members accountable for their behavior and following through with any discipline procedures. Report disciplinary actions to Program Director
6. Any duties assigned by Site Director.
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
· Experience working with children
· Patience and understanding for youth
· Ability to plan and implement quality programs for youth
· Working knowledge of control and management
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From $11.00 per hour
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
