7:15am - 2:45pm (7 hours, plus 1/2 hour unpaid lunch)

POSITION SUMMARY: Provide support to faculty and staff by copying, laminating, and preparation of classroom materials as requested. Provide recess and classroom coverage as necessary.

  • High School Diploma – experience working in education preferred
  • Ability to deal with interruptions
  • Ability to multi-task – flexibility
  • Effective communication skills: written – oral – telephone – interpersonal
  • Computer literate
  • Ability to work with students and meet their specific needs: emotional – social – academic – physical
  • Ability to work with teachers and staff
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to supervise students using good judgment and school guidelines
  • Ability to observe, assess and problem solve
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member
  • Maintain a pleasant, positive child/client-centered attitude
  • Operate and use equipment related to job function

ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Employee must have the ability to perform the following essential functions on a timely basis with or without reasonable accommodations. To successfully perform this position, a person must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Copying materials
  • Recess/class coverage – lunch, coverage
  • Material preparation – typing, laminating, binding, posters, banners, etc.
  • Ordering supplies
  • Work with equipment repair people
  • Regular and consistent attendance
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor
