The IUPUI Bursar Office provides bursar services and support for the IUPUI, IUPUC and IU Fort Wayne campuses. It is our mission to provide timely financial information and to ensure fiscal responsibility with a steadfast commitment to comprehensive, solution-driven customer service in support of the University's mission and continued growth of the campus. Our primary responsibilities are management of all student accounts, the bursar call center, student fees, billing and refunds. We also support billing and payments related to corporate and governmental student sponsorships, student financial systems first-line technical support and provide banking and accounts receivable services for the campus.
Job Summary
Department-Specific Responsibilities
- Serves as a primary contact via telephone or email with students, parents, faculty, staff and the general public to share information concerning student billing, tuition and fee assessments, financial aid and enrollments.
- Analyzes student accounts and initiates appropriate adjustments.
- Reviews and researches financial aid eligibility and disbursement requirements.
- May issue enrollment clearances to allow for continuous enrollment and student success.
General Responsibilities
- Under close supervision, performs routine administrative tasks related to bursar accounts, such as applying tuition and fees and processing payments.
- Audits bursar accounts and payments to ensure compliance with deadlines and applicable regulations; communicates discrepancies to supervisor and may assist with corrections.
- Fields emails and phone calls, responds to inquiries and requests, and explains policies and procedures.
- Helps students, parents, employees, sponsoring organizations, departments, and other constituents understand billing information, including deadlines, interest, payment plans, fees, and processes.

Working Conditions / Demands
This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.
