Job breakdown
BBCF has an opening for a Bus Driver to help the wheels on the bus go around and around... and to get children aged 3-5 to and from home to a designated Head Start Center.

What you will own

• Transporting children to and from their homes to Head Start centers
• Performing regular bus-maintenance work as requested
• Collaborating with Bus Monitor to teach children safe bus practices
• General record-keeping regarding bus including:
• Bus incident reports
• Routes and alternate routes
• Child contact information and consent forms

Skills you will bring to the table

• Knowledge of federal, state, and local transportation requirements
• Cultural sensitivity and knowledge about Black Belt Region
• Basic computer literacy in email, internet navigation, and Microsoft Office software
• Proficient in English

Non-negotiables

• Possess a valid CDL - commercial driver's license with an "S" endorsement
• One year prior experience safely transporting children in a school bus
• Passing a physical examination
• Passing all Head Start licensing required checks including (but not limited to):
• Background check
• Alcohol test
• Drug test
• TB test

• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds
• 20/40 vision or better
• Positive attitude
