We research new methods to save lives. RRC is a leader in the field of nicotine research. We work with the National Institutes of Health, Pharmaceutical partners, Industry partners, small businesses, non-profit organizations, and others to find an end to addiction of combustible nicotine products.

What we would like you to do.

We’re looking for a part-time Business Analyst for the continued development of eResearch, a mobile clinical research iOS and Android application. RRC’s corporate office is in Raleigh, North Carolina with an additional satellite office in Charlotte, North Carolina. The current position will be filled at the Charlotte location. We prefer a local candidate who can be based out of the office but can consider a hybrid option for the right candidate.

The primary responsibility of this position is to ensure that the eResearch application meets the needs of Rose Research Center for remote conduct of nicotine and smoking cessation. This individual will work closely with the eResearch Project Manager as well as other team members, to manage quality assurance of the application. They will work directly with our Project Manager, an offshore development team, as well as Company leadership. Potential candidates should be detailed-oriented, organized, be a critical thinker, enjoy multi-tasking in a fast-paced setting and be able to work both independently and collaboratively.

In this position you will:

  • Be responsible for creating scalable, maintainable, and distributed test frameworks (test plans and test cases).
  • Create requirements documents, create and execute test cases to ensure the developed functionality conforms to the specified requirements.
  • Manage day-to-day tasks as specified by the project launch schedule (responsible for testing a feature by reviewing the changes and executing test scenarios to ensure a match with the feature requirements).
  • Manually test the application in various environments.
  • Work with various teams in the organization to ensure appropriate project requirements are met.
  • Document and resolve testing issues (responsible for setting best practices on test operations).
  • Complete cross-platform regression testing of the mobile application.

Must have skills

  • Experience as an application UAT Tester or related experience
  • Experience writing function requirement documents
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Experience using web based and mobile testing frameworks
  • Experience using project tracking software
  • Experience using version control systems
  • Ability to work autonomously and in a team
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Ability to solve complex problems
  • Determination and tenacity to commit to the end when solving issues

Stand out knowledge and abilities

  • Experience in product design and/or UI/UX is a plus
  • Experience with JIRA and Confluence
  • An individual who is a natural leader and self-starter
  • Self-directed initiative seeking behavior
  • Someone who has experience working with offshore development teams
  • Experience working in clinical research and can relate that experience to what we’re developing
