Due to continued growth, our Environmental Service Group is seeking an Environmental Business Development Lead for our Kennesaw, GA location. Other ENERCON office locations in the Southeast may also be considered.

Responsibilities (including but are not limited to)

  • Sales and Business Development of the following primary services: Siting and permitting, site evaluation/studies to include assessment, flood plains, site topology, hydrology, geotechnical features, wetlands, interconnection locations. NEPA, environmental management plans, due diligence, biological surveys, natural and cultural resources, avian studies, endangered species, SWPPPs and SPPC, site assessment and remediation, air permitting,
  • Support growth with existing sectors and develop new Environmental Services Business in one or more of the following industry sectors: Electric Utility, Renewable Energy (solar and wind), Transmission and Distribution, Distributed Energy (DER) and Energy Storage systems (esp. Battery Energy Storage, BESS); identify new opportunities, working with technical staff on the development / bidding of RFPs, negotiating agreements, permitting, interconnection, transmission, and distribution
  • Develop and expand Renewables (solar and wind), Transmission and Distribution, DER and BESS environmental services through collaboration and an integrated services approach by partnering with other operational divisions
  • Strengthen and maintain relationships with key external clients, including at mid/senior levels
  • Represent ENERCON at local and international conferences and trade shows
  • Monitor and report on all projects and prospects under development
  • Track and analyze the ENERCON’s competitive environment, including new technologies and new competitors
  • Coordinate business development activities between various divisions and stakeholders

Required qualifications / skills

  • Must have a bachelor’s degree in engineering, environmental science, hydrogeology, geology, or another related field
  • At least 10+ years of professional experience in the relevant field
  • Prior experience in sales, business development or project experience in the environmental consulting services industry
  • Experience developing and implementing a pricing strategy
  • Read and write at a technical level that will enhance input into client proposals and presentations
  • High level of interpersonal skills and verbal diplomacy
  • Perform office work in a safe and efficient manner
  • Must be able to use a variety of computer software applications utilizing word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and presentations. Must be proficient in MS Teams, Word, Excel, Power Point

Employment requirement

  • Must pass a pre-employment and random drug and alcohol screenings, ENERCON and client specific background checks, and annual motor vehicle record (MVR) according to company and client policies.

Must be legally eligible to work in the US without current or future sponsorship.
