Saint Simons By-The-Sea Hospital is seeking a Business Development Representative, who is responsible for the overall marketing and promotion of the hospital's programs and services while maximizing referral potentials from assigned referral accounts, and developing new business to achieve the goals and objectives of the Strategic Marketing Plan. Our business development team serves the coastal, central, and southern Georgia market that also spans from Saint Augustine, FL to Beaufort, SC.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following tasks:
  • Provides regular contact with existing referral accounts, as well as develops new business contacts within groups of Physicians, Allied Health Professionals, Mental Health/Social Service Facilities/Agencies, EAPs/Employers, Legal/Judicial Organizations, Hospitals, and other Treatment Facilities.
  • Develops account management list to maintain current account information and updates as required.
  • Contacts all primary accounts through personal visits, telephone calls, and letters/mailers on an ongoing basis, developing and encouraging a relationship of trust with all active accounts.
  • Attends and exhibits at designated statewide and potential national conferences related to services provided.
  • Monitors referrals and admissions and plans an appropriate strategy to maximize referral potential.
  • Maintains current awareness of changes in the industry through self-education, peer education, and professional and community involvement for the betterment of this position and the facility.
  • Reports ongoing findings and analyzes the continuously changing healthcare environment and market, and assists in the developing new marketing strategies.
  • Submits weekly contact reports and month-end summaries, as scheduled.
  • Attends scheduled department meetings to provide the Director with scheduled reports on month-end reviews, client servicing schedules, and other reporting requirements.
  • Acts as liaison with managed care companies.
  • Coordinates the completion of all applications and information requested by designated managed care companies.
  • Oversees the administration and maintenance of managed care contracts for the designated companies.
  • Coaches department staff on effective business development styles and techniques.
  • Prepares annual reports and budgeting reports.

Qualifications:
Job Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree in a behavioral health area, marketing, business administration or related field required.
Master's degree preferred.
Minimum of 2 years' experience in healthcare business development, healthcare marketing and sales, or contract management environment, resulting in measurable results.
Direct experience developing managed care agreements (especially with capitation and at-risk areas).
Detailed knowledge of psychiatric and chemical dependency treatment principles preferred.
Must have valid drivers' license.
