JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for the technical support of business office operations, including the set up and maintenance of tuition and fee assessment tables and rates, monthly eBilling, and ad hoc reporting. This position applies technical expertise and knowledge of processes to complete projects of defined scope, answer user questions, and assist senior staff on more complex projects.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Set-up and maintenance of the tuition and fee assessment tables, tuition rates, refunding (for add/drop activity), and specialized billing processes. This includes developing and executing tests that analyze the accuracy of tuition/fee assessment, refunding, eBilling, and other accounts receivable functions. It also consists of ensuring the daily Banner processes and scripts needed to update tuition for registration information are working as intended. To accomplish this function, detailed information regarding the numerous and complex tuition structures for undergraduate and graduate programs, Banner programming methodology related to registration and tuition/fee assessment, and university registration and refunding policy are needed. This includes the identification of known programming defects and working with the Banner vendor on creating recommended “workarounds” and requires a solid understanding of the student database structure and data. This position provides guidance to technical IT staff related to tuition and fee assessment and accounts receivable modules of the Banner enterprise system. It also requires interaction with departmental registration contacts and other Business Office customers as needed.
  • Plans, designs, develops, tests, and maintains reporting for the Business Office, both reports that are operational and ad hoc in nature. This also requires planning, executing and analyzing software and network tests relative to Business Office data, evaluating and utilizing the appropriate technical platform/software as needed. Provides support and back-up for all technical Business Office processes.
  • Support for TouchNet payment processing/eBills and TouchNet MarketPlace. Verifying data from “subsidiary” systems, such as Residence Life feeds for meal plans and rooms. Reconciles daily A/R to Finance activity. Creation and maintenance of the detail codes used for all charges and credits in the AR module of Banner, so a solid understanding of the Banner Finance is needed.
  • Provide outstanding service to Business Office customers and partners, and back-up other office position tasks as needed.
  • To react effectively to changes in workload, and to handle other essential tasks and activities as assigned, to include, but not limited to; some travel, participation in professional development opportunities and team building activities.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration (or a closely related field) with an emphasis in information technology
  • Three years of professional level experience providing systems customer support, particularly with report writing and data analysis, billing processes, and training/documentation development
