This is a key managerial position for a person who is analytical in their decision-making, personable, detail-oriented, and has excellent communication skills. This individual will be a key member of our team and will have a key role in overseeing our supply chain operations.

Description

  • Plan and coordinate purchases of approximately $15 million dollars per year of raw material purchases (circuit boards, injection molded plastics, electrical components, switches, battery connectors, thermo-formed and print packaging, etc.) from China, India, and domestic suppliers from multiple states.
  • Determine appropriate purchase quantities to optimize use of cash and minimize shipping costs, while maintaining sufficient stock levels.
  • Create optimal shipping plans, and oversee inbound shipping plans.
  • Research and source various materials to support new product introductions, and to improve the quality and cost of existing raw materials.
  • Maintain excellent communication with both domestic and foreign vendors (e.g. China and India) -- no foreign language skills required.
  • Enhance the quality of inspections to ensure quality standards are maintained.
  • Coordinate with production manager to create optimal production plans for 59 finished good SKUs which are assembled in-house by a team of approximately 70 assembly workers.
  • Perform other miscellaneous business functions, as necessary.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with focus on supply chain.
  • 3-5 years of experience
  • Excellent academic record.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate contracts and maintain positive supplier relationships.
  • Communicate proactively with Production and Engineering on issues with quality, product specifications, or delivery
  • Must be able to effectively develop, track prioritize and manage complex projects.
  • Ability to drive a project forward and work independently.
  • Strong decision-making skills that include developing recommendations and solutions for issues or problems that may arise
  • Collaborates well with a team and can gracefully give and receive feedback.
