Who you are:
- A college graduate with at least 2-3 years of professional experience, preferably within the aftermarket parts industry.
- You have previous purchasing experience.
- You have a solid understanding of basic marketing and sales strategies.
- You aren't afraid of numbers and have excellent problem-solving skills.
- When you finish your task at hand, you ask, "what's next?"
- You are a true team player - we aren't a huge organization, so some responsibilities are shared among the team.
What you'll do:
- Identify forecasting errors within specific categories and communicate with relevant teams.
- Adjust MRP settings to account for variances in forecasts.
- Place orders and schedule delivery of items based on demand forecast.
- Balance order size with inventory turns with best price in mind.
- Review shortage reports to determine requirements and overdue material to ensure minimal backlog.
- Coordinate transfer of materials between multiple warehouses as required.
- Maintain supplier relationships.
- Expedite/Cancel orders as required.
- Maintain procurement records to document items or services purchased.
- Determine corrective actions regarding invoice discrepancies, (shortages, price discrepancies etc.)
- Assist in setting up part numbers as needed, including pricing, lead time, min order qty, primary and secondary supplier.
