Job Summary
This position will coordinate, execute, monitor, and report on professional/ technical contracts, grants and lease agreements for the Department of Revenue. Contract coordination includes providing guidance and leadership to Department of Revenue staff to procure services that are comprehensive and technical in nature to ensure the administration of department programs. This position will ensure that all contracts are legal and accomplish the business needs of the Agency and are administered effectively and efficiently.
The position will perform volume purchasing of various supplies, equipment, and services for the Department of Revenue in accordance with applicable statutes, policies, and procedures. This includes negotiating with vendors regarding price, quantity,
deliverables, and other relevant terms and conditions. The positon will also document and maintain Department of Revenue purchasing policies and procedures and manage all aspects of the purchasing requisition process.
Minimum Qualifications
Three (3) years of experience with contracts or purchasing coordination in a professional setting OR
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or other business related field and two (2) years of experience with contracts or purchasing coordination in a professional setting
AND
Experience with SWIFT (State of Minnesota Accounting System) or other large accounting database application. Comprehensive knowledge of and ability to use Microsoft Office applications, including Excel.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to work effectively within a team.
Excellent organizational and documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
One year of purchasing or contract coordinating experience in state government. Proficient with Excel and the ability to use advanced functions.
Understanding of the business operations of the Minnesota Department of Revenue. Experience with negotiating in a professional setting.
Physical Requirements
Requires occasional moving of articles such as boxes, accounting records, laptop computer, and portable printer.

- Prior to an offer of employment, a background check will be conducted.
