Brooksource is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Fortune 500 client's technology practice. The senior software engineer role applies the principles of secure software engineering to the design, development, maintenance, testing and evaluation of software and cloud infrastructure. Works cross functionally to understand business requirements, architecture, and technology direction, evaluate alternative approaches and ensure software and systems are designed accordingly. Incorporates state-of-the-art concepts and practices to facilitate system functionality, scalability, resilience, and security as well as ease-of-use (developer / user experience). Applies agile principles to software development with a focus on delivery of business value, collaboration, continuous improvement, and sustainability.
Responsibilities:
- Serves as a participating member on teams tasked to develop, improve and deliver product / system elements and features.
- Breaks down functional and business requirements into tangible, clear and estimable objectives, providing recommendations to management and project team members.
- Writes end-to-end automated tests to provide code coverage for business critical components.
- Ensures quality, performance and adherence to specifications of assigned development tasks and adjacent technology solutions.
- Works with fellow team members to ensure design, development and execution align with and support adjacencies and adhere to established architectural standards.
- Notifies team or technical manager of variances from plans and identifies changes in scope or work.
- Helps define and support implementation of coding standards.
- May offer technical guidance to less experienced team members.
Minimum Requirements:
- B.S. in Computer Science or related discipline required
- 5-7 years experience in a related field required
