Summary Malibu is the world’s leading towboat manufacturer and now looking for an experienced CAD member to join their Product Development Engineering team. This position will perform CAD drafting duties to support both New Product Engineering and Product Development in the continuous improvement of the Malibu product.

*Essential Duties and Responsibilities*

• Working with the Product Development team, prepare CAD models of assemblies, parts, and drawings for new product, new designs, and production requests.
• Works daily with multi-discipline teams to coordinate the CAD development and implementation of new products and designs.
• Works daily with production to ensure CAD needs are met.
• Self-check own work for completeness, accuracy, compliance to standards, fits and stack-ups.
• Work from drawings, sketches, physical parts, computer models or scanned images.
• Works Daily to solve complex problems and determine best path, with a strong grasp of root cause analysis.
• Assist in new product design and continuous improvement of Malibu and Axis boats’ product designs.
• Provide cross-departmental support and effective communication of all areas of responsibility with a specific focus on daily manufacturing support and continuous quality improvements.
• Regularly evaluates CAD of new system components necessary to ensure proper functionality of a product.
• Works daily to manage and coordinate multiple projects, keeping them on time and on budget.
• Works occasionally with outside vendors/suppliers to provide feedback for product design, areas of improvement, and testing results.

*Education and/or Experience*

• Post secondary school training in drafting (2-4 year technical certificate or degree from an accredited institution preferred) combined with 1 – 3 years of experience preparing drawings of differing scales of difficulty; or,
• Minimum of three years of experience preparing drawings of differing scales of difficulty
• Minimum of three years of experience in Solidworks and AutoCAD required
• Experience in NX Preferred
