Camp Cheerful, Strongsville
Camp Cheerful is a beautiful 52 acre facility that is part of the well-respected Achievement Centers for Children (ACC). Since 1940 ACC has been empowering children and adults with disabilities and their families to achieve their greatest potential. Located in the Mill Steam Run Reservation of the Cleveland Metroparks in Strongsville, Ohio, Camp Cheerful provides campers all the traditional camp activities including: hiking, swimming, fishing, canoeing, arts and crafts, nature study activities, games, campfire activities, music, sports, visits to our horse barn, and memories that will last a lifetime!
The Details:
- LPN or RN license
- $162 stipend per day
- Monday through Friday, from 8:15am-4:45pm.
- Staff Training week June 5th to June 9th; Day Camp June 12th-August 11th
- Including CPR, First Aid and AED certification, Crisis Prevention and Intervention certification, lots of information about disabilities.
- Cheerful Day Campers are between the ages of 5 to 22 with and without disabilities.
- We serve a wide range of disabilities including cognitive, physical, developmental and neurological.
- We provide a 1 counselor to 3 camper ratio
- We have a dedicated 'Health Center' on-site, where the nurse would work from throughout the summer, in addition to assisting in singing campfire songs and doing arts and crafts!
