What will you do?
The Captive Account Manager (manager) is assigned a group of captive accounts to manage for all aspects of accounting, reporting, maintaining policy and claim information, client interaction, other service provider interaction and regulatory interaction. The manager will also work with other Risk Partner employees to accomplish some tasks. The number of accounts assigned to each manager depends on the type of captive (pure captive, risk retention group, special purpose captive) and the complexity of each captive program assigned.
- Maintaining transactional accounting information in QuickBooks to include all banking transactions, investment transactions, policy and premium transactions.
- Adjusting the general ledger accounts in QuickBooks as needed to reflect adjustments for earned premium, claims reserves, income tax reserves, accrued expense reserves and other balances.
- If Risk Partners (RPI) is responsible for writing checks, work with the RPI employee that writes checks to make sure they are issued correctly and timely. This requires obtaining permission from the proper client contact to pay invoices.
- Reconcile all bank accounts whether RPI is responsible for writing checks or not. This may require obtaining copies of bank statements from the client, from the bank on-line or via U.S. Mail.
- Creating and maintaining a periodic set of financial statements and supporting documentation for presentation to clients, RPI management and various other third parties
What are we looking for?
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- 2-4 years’ accounting experience
- Knowledge of insurance related accounting a plus
- Strong math, organization, critical thinking, and problem solving skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong research and presentation skills
