Job Summary/Basic Function
The Talent Search Academic Caseworker will be responsible for assisting the coordinator with the 10 high schools, by helping students navigate the Academic Support area. The Academic Caseworker will advise and provide academic support to Talent Search Participants. The incumbent works with key personnel at target schools to connect with participants and deliver necessary program materials, workshops, field trips, college applications/forms, testing information/forms/waivers, and tutoring services.
The grant for this position will end September 2028 unless renewed.

Annual Salary: $51,306.00 plus comprehensive benefits starting on the first day of employment, including:
- Health insurance – Low bi-weekly premium. Employees pay 5% of bi-weekly salary for benefit coverage with ability to pay 2.5% when participating in the wellness program.
- Dental insurance – Coverage is free to employee and dependents after 90 days
- Vision insurance – Coverage is free to employee and dependents after 90 days.
- Group life insurance - equal to annual salary (up to $50,000) at no cost to the employee
- Voluntary Group Life and Accident Insurance – available for purchase at low rates for additional employee coverage as well as coverage for spouse and children
- Long Term Disability Insurance – available for purchase at low rates with either a 90 or 180-day waiting period
- Retirement – 2 plans to choose from
- Tuition waiver – employee, spouse, and dependents are eligible
- Vacation leave– up to 10.4 days accrued for the first year, increases to up to 15.6 days per year after first year
- Personal leave – up to 5 days per year
- Sick leave – up to 15.6 days accrued per year, including up to 5 days per year that can be taken to care for a family member
- Holiday leave – up to 12 days per calendar year

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Experience working in a college or university student support area.
- Experience presenting to small groups.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Flexibility, willingness, and ability to pursue and adopt new ideas, information and technology, and process and summarize information.
- Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Maintain a high degree of confidentiality, accuracy, professionalism, and time management to successfully facilitate diverse and complex duties.

- Experience working with a diverse student population.
- Social Work, Psychology, or other service area experience.
Job Description
- Work with target schools and staff to track and monitor participant progress.
- Provide academic and career advisement to Talent Search participants.
- Plan and Facilitate pre-college workshops.
- Meet one on one with Talent Search participants when needed.
- Design and implement study skills and other academic enrichment programs throughout the year.
- Supervise participants on academic field trips.
- Meet with schools periodically throughout the year.
- Develop and facilitate workshops/seminars to program participants.
- Connect with students to seek out academic needs, such as waivers, dual enrollment classes, tutoring help etc.
- Oversee the implementation of the academic aspects of the program.
- Maintain and complete accurate files on Talent Search students.
- Assist coordinator with outreach efforts of the Talent Search EPPIIC Academies by facilitating specific academic programming.
- Provide regular follow-up, support and academic information to parents and students of the 10 TS schools.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
