Job Description
To provide category management to all CHS Hospitals and facilities regarding organization spend management in Supply Chain with a focus on strategic sourcing. Serve as a key resource for vendor relationships to proactively develop and enforce agreements for the collective benefit of CHS.
1. Manage the sourcing process for their assigned category team. Conduct market research, prepares
bids and RFI, Strategy Development & Validation, RFP, negotiate contracts, and execute contract
launch.
2. Manage supplier performance and leads quarterly business review processes including evaluating
vendor compliance with contracts and managing vendor rebates; resolves vendor product or
service issues for the category team.
3. Evaluate primary and all secondary sources of supply product category spend management to
understand the competitive landscape and identify strategies/opportunities for better pricing.
4. Draft and redline contracts. Negotiate favorable contract terms and conditions and pricing with
suppliers at the corporate level on behalf of CHS facilities for the category team. Manage internal
communications across teams and work with key stakeholders and subject matter experts (i.e.,
legal, service lines, supply chain)
5. Proactively manages overall spend for the category team, working with team to understand root
causes of spend and continuously identify opportunities to improve multiple sources of value
(price, standardization, utilization, operations, studies purchase order spend and contract
adherence) and manages appropriate means for bringing new products for the category team into
the health system
6 Manage agreement performance, optimize tiers and or rebates, and achieve the agreement
compliance requirements to ensure contractual obligations are met to bring the agreement value
to the health system..
Required Education:
Bachelor’s degree
Preferred Education:
A bachelor’s degree in Business/Healthcare Administration or a master’s in business or legal degree
Required Experience:
2- 3 years relevant experience
Preferred Experience:
Three (3) plus years of specific category team strategic sourcing experience
