If the above description sounds like you, our client in Selma, Alabama is looking for a Center Supervisor to serve as the administrative and operational leader of a Head Start Center in the Black Belt region!

What you will own
Human Resources:

  • Knowing personnel policies and procedures
  • Completing performance evaluations for staff
  • Submitting timely reports regarding areas of non-compliance to Head Start Director

Leadership and Promoting Company Culture:

  • Collaborating with Director of Education to build a culture of excellence and accountability
  • Attending parent committees, Policy Council, and Board of Directors meetings, as requested
  • Understanding the details while always focusing on the big picture
  • Participating and/or leading team and 1-1 meetings ensuring seamless and efficient coordination of services across Head Start program

Administration and Operations:

  • Overseeing monthly facilities' health and safety checks
  • Ensuring that all centers maintain up-to-date licensing(s) and maintaining any relevant documentation
  • Maintaining physical and digital documentation of monitoring, coaching, and training activities utilizing appropriate software
  • Complete and submit monthly reports regarding progress towards goals and provide suggestions for improvement

General Management:

  • Communicating directives, policies, procedures, and any requested information to families and staff at Center
  • Managing overall Center goals through a combination of collaboration, supervision, and coordination with various departments including Head Start Director, Senior Leadership Team Members, and Support Staff

Skills you will bring to the table

  • Experience related to management, operations or facilities, or office coordination
  • Decision-making driven by data
  • Pro-active and efficient in problem-solving
  • Excellent communication (written and spoken)
  • Computer literacy in word processing and email
  • Ability to learn new software related to administration
  • Strong literacy in English (written and spoken)
  • Exceptional Task prioritization and documentation
  • Extremely reliable and punctual

Negotiables

  • Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Development or a related field

Non-negotiables

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Current driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Travel out-of-state, on occasion
  • Ability to lift children up to 40lbs multiple times a day, if needed
  • Follow Child Abuse and Neglect Policy and fulfill role as mandated reporter
  • Passing all Head Start licensing required checks including but not limited to:
  • Background check
  • Alcohol test
  • Drug test
  • TB test
  • CPR and First Aid certifications or plan to obtain before start date
