Position Summary

Coordinating the entire operations within the terminal by monitoring & supervising from the Central Control Room (CCR). This position will be responsible for coordinating and monitor the tasks of the field operators in consultation with the field supervisors. Additionally, this person will assess the tasks and perform risk assessments, communicating with the field operators and verifying tasks are completed safely and efficiently. Maintains data entry in PEPI and other software program 'Real Time' constantly coordinating and communicating with the Supervisor, Planner and other outside agencies.

The CCR coordinator is capable of working as a Shift Supervisor in the field and is capable of working independently in the CCR and well as assisting in the field.

Essential Job Functions

Assists in the development, training, implementation and monitoring of safety, health, environmental, quality and security (SHEQ) policies, procedures and programs; ensures compliance with local, state and Federal regulations, codes and standards; develops, implements, and complies with Company global SHEQ standards, practices, and applicable codes; maintains continued quality of Company process systems; supports development, implementation, and measurement of SHEQ procedures, practices, projects, and record keeping
The CCR Coordinator is responsible for the safe, environmentally sound, and economic operation of terminal areas by operating the PLC consoles, and by directing outside personnel to control the areas. They optimize terminal operations by implementing actions set by the Operations Management.
Assist in the field with operational activities
Responsible for developing 'Historical Trend Analysis'
Troubleshoot and investigate alarms.
Directs follow up actions to correct alarms
Assist in the planning of activities and preparations as per the operational requirements.
Real time entry in the PEPI and other software programs.
Responsible for CCR administrative activities (monitor, troubleshoot and manage alarms, maintaining the various parameters of equipment such as; ATG'S pump rates, flows, pressures, ship shore readings, monitoring key systems i.e. Styrene, P.O. N2 & O2 levels and temperatures).
Ensure customer reports are sent within agreed timeframe
Responsible for capturing loading and unloading stop gauges.
Works as relief Operations Supervisors as required for coverage.
Work in any outside operations area as required for coverage and to maintain area proficiency.
Trains step-up operators on the console.
Directs and monitors the step-up operator in Console operation for area reliability
Works with others to implement change, i.e. terminal improvements, safety suggestions, new procedures, and new operational policies and guidelines.
Ensures procedures are followed where practical. Records any deviations.
Continually looks for better ways to do things, better procedures, and more efficient methods
Discusses own personal development with Operations Superintendent, reviewing performance versus objectives to highlight areas that require attention. Makes plans to improve.
Looks for ways to reduce energy consumption.
Makes a proper shift relief, including: reviewing logbook, daily notes, operating data, operating plans or deviations from operating plans, and discussion of any problems or unusual circumstances experienced or anticipated.
Communicates cross-functionally with all departments as necessary to meet the demands of the position.

Experience Requirement

Extensive knowledge of the organization, terminal, processes, work methods and properties of stored (classified) products.
Sound knowledge of required quality, safety and environmental regulations as well as knowledge of the products in relation to safety and environment.
Knowledge of operation computerized systems and software (Excel, Word)
Oral and written knowledge of the English language.
Good social and communication skills.
Self-reliance and initiative, ability to set priorities

Education Requirement

Associates of Applied Science degree in Engineering or Process Technology (Chemical, mechanical, electrical) preferred
Preferred or 5-10 years' experience within the Terminal Industry
A Central Control Room Coordinator will undergo initial training on Emerson Process management; Delta-V. Successful completion of this training is required to assume the CCR position. Periodic update training will be required and provided. Training is validated by practical application of the knowledge acquired.

Work Environment

This position requires an employee to be in an office environment as well as exposed to outside elements. Most extreme elements are heat in the summer months of up to 100+ degrees and some exposure to cold of generally no less than 20° in the winter months. There will be exposure to various chemicals and compounds, including fumes and smells, some of them hazardous. Employee must be able to wear PPE required by the location. General office noise may be experienced and louder sounds and vibrations when outside. All environments are safe with appropriate PPE.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, sit, speak and hear. The employee is required to stand, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; the employee may be required, on occasion, to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee may be required to climb ladders/storage tanks up to 50' in height. The employee may be required to enter confined spaces. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to twenty (20) pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Employee may be required to travel by air, rail, bus, or car.
