REQUIREMENTS: HIGH SCHOOL OR GED. MUST HAVE CERTIFICATION AS CENTRAL STERILE SERVICES TECHNICIAN OR MUST ACQUIRE WITHIN 6 MONTHS OF EMPLOYMENT. 1-2 YEARS EXPERIENCE PREFERRED. MUST BE KNOWLEDGEABLE IN PRINCIPLES OF ASEPTIC TECHNIQUE.
JOB SUMMARY: THE CENTRAL STERILE SERVICES TECHNICIAN IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE PROCUREMENT OF SURGICAL SUPPLIES AND EQUIPMENT, AND FOR DECONTAMINATING, CLEANING, PROCESSING, ASSEMBLING, STERILIZING, STORING AND DISTRIBUTING THE MEDICAL DEVICES AND SUPPLIES NEEDED IN PATIENT CARE DURING SURGERY.
