Certified Dining Assistant Job at Independence Health System, Inc.
The Dining Assistant will assist those residents who are no longer able to feed themselves or residents that have lost their interest in eating. The Dining Assistant will strive to make this a pleasant experience for the residents. This is a certified position, but will train and certify onsite.
1. Represent Independence Care Center in a positive and professional manner.
2. Know and practice Resident’s rights and exhibit attitudes and behaviors that indicate respect for them.
3. Demonstrate a caring attitude in all interactions with the residents.
4. Abide by Independence Care Center Personnel Policies and Procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
5. Know and practice emergency policies and procedures.
6. Transfer residents to and from the Dining Room and the Assisted Dining Room.
7. Feed and encourage residents to eat in Assisted Dining Room.
8. Interact with all residents based upon their individual needs.
9. Maintain a therapeutic environment for all residents; promote and encourage independence.
10. Report to charge nurse any concerns or changes you may notice when feeding the residents.
11. Responsible for assuring Resident safety.
