EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
· Current AAMA (American Association of Medical Assistants) Certification
Healthcare Provider BLS certification
· Mandatory Abuse Reporter Certification required within 6 months of employment
· Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English well.
· Computer literate - Microsoft Office and able to learn additional software programs
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF JOB
· Assists the Physician and/or Physician’s Assistant, Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner in providing patient care to the clinic patients as directed. Relates effectively with other staff for continuity of care; maintains satisfactory relations with other departments of Health Center, participates in all phases of education, maintenance of records, and upgrading of policies, procedures, and skills. Facilitates a friendly, efficient, professional atmosphere within the office. Assists in the operations of the clinic as directed and maintains clinic in proficient and efficient manner.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
· Ability to maintain confidentiality; and both a high standard of courtesy and cooperation in dealing with co-workers, patients, and visitors, and satisfactory job performance despite the stress of a clinic work environment.
· Incorporates Mission, Vision, and Core Values into department, and ensures departmental employees and self-adhere to these.
· Wears appropriate apparel for the position and displays nametag upon such apparel.
· Meets attendance and punctuality guidelines of the organization.
· Demonstrates regular, predictable, and physical attendance at work.
· Demonstrates initiative and responsibility.
Greets the patient/family in a professional, friendly manner.
Assists with scheduling inpatient/outpatient admissions, procedures, testing and referrals.
Keys patient information into computer to complete visit process.
Escorts patients to exam rooms, obtains appropriate health information, verifies/updates patient medical history, vital signs, and medications, and prepares the patient for exam.
Assists provider with patient exams and procedures as needed.
Ensures each room is prepared with the appropriate equipment/instruments for the type of patient exam being performed.
Ensures an appropriate exam environment by cleaning and stocking rooms as needed. This includes equipment, instruments, educational materials, etc.
Pre-certifies all procedures, etc. with insurance companies as needed.
Assists with referrals to other providers or other hospital departments as needed.
Demonstrates appropriate instrument and safety procedures/care when cleaning, disinfecting, and sterilizing per clinic routine.
Alerts manager to any problems or potential problems with instruments, equipment, or environment.
Performs laboratory functions as appropriate, including CLIA waived testing, injections and/or draw blood. Performs controls and basic maintenance for laboratory equipment.
· Assists with screening and follow up with patient test results.
· Identifies personal strengths and weaknesses, and targets areas for self-development. Participates in educational opportunities and works toward developing new skills and enhancing existing skills. Accepts feedback and works toward improvement where appropriate.
· Promote the practice through positive public relations.
· Organizes and expresses ideas clearly, using appropriate documentation and communication methods. Responds to requests from patients and coworkers in a timely manner and communicates with them to ensure satisfaction. Adapts communication style to match patient, representative, provider, etc.
· Complies with all policies and regulations governing the activities of the organization. Including, but not limited to; infection control, safety, risk management, quality, RHC, CMS, etc.
· Prepares and maintains accurate medical records.
· Instructs patients on health promotion and disease prevention.
· Locates community resources and disseminate information.
· Recognize and respond to emergencies.
· Attend meetings and in-services as required.
· Other duties as assigned.

Pay: $30.00 - $32.00 per hour
