Spring Creek Nursing and Rehab is currently looking to add Certified Medication Aides (CMA) for our long-term care (LTC) and skilled nursing facility. Qualifications/Skills/Educational Requirements

  • A High School Diploma or General Education Degree; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Requires a CMA license
  • Maintain and practice as an STNA in LTC for a minimum of 1 year.
  • Ability to lift at least 51 lbs. on a regular basis and physically able to help residents who require physical assistance
  • Read, write, speak and understand the English language.
  • May require experience with caring for residents with memory impairment if assigned to memory care areas of the community
  • Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
  • Complete functions of the Certified Medication Aide in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern the long-term care facility.
  • May administer medications in accordance to state and federal guidelines by oral, rectal and vaginal suppositories, eye drops, ear drops, inhalants and topical. Certified Medication Aides may not administer medications: Schedule II drugs (narcotics), intravenous, intramuscular, insulins, gtube/pegtube or any other then listed above.
  • Ensure that all nursing personnel assigned to you comply with the written policies and procedures established by this facility./
  • Meet with your assigned nursing staff, as well as support personnel, in planning the shifts’ services, programs, and activities.
  • Make written and oral reports/recommendations concerning the activities of your shift as required and report to Supervisor.
  • Cooperate with other resident services when coordinating nursing services to ensure that the resident’s total regimen of care is maintained.
  • Ensure that all nursing service personnel are in compliance with their respective job descriptions.
  • Participate in facility surveys (inspections) made by authorized government agencies as may be requested.
  • File required recordkeeping forms/charts upon the resident’s admission, transfer, and/or discharge.
  • Encourage attending physicians to review treatment plans, record and sign their orders, progress notes, etc., in accordance with established policies.
  • Report all discrepancies noted concerning physician’s orders, diet change, charting error, etc., to the Nurse Supervisor.
  • Sign and date all entries made in the resident’s medical administration record.
  • Prepare and administer medications as ordered by the physician within scope of practice.
  • Ensure that an adequate supply of floor stock medications, supplies, and equipment is on hand to meet the nursing needs of the residents. Report needs to the Nurse Supervisor.
  • Order prescribed medications, supplies, and equipment as necessary, and in accordance with established policies and scope of practice.
  • Notify the Nurse Supervisor of all drug discrepancies noted on your shift.
  • Notify the Supervisor of automatic stop orders prior to the last dosage being administered.
  • Other duties as assigned.
