Certified Nurse Aide (Health Services Assistant) Job at Abrams Assisted Living
An exciting opportunity work in a brand-new assisted living community, in a great location at The Parks DC in Northwest. We use PointClickCare for documentation and offer a relaxed and supportive work environment.
This position has primary responsibility for completing delegated tasks associated with the personal care needs of the residents.
1. Receive and give shift report twice daily at beginning and end of shift.
2. Assist residents with all activities of daily living (ADLs) per schedule.
3. Assists residents with ambulation, in and out of bed or chairs per care plans.
4. Provides Health Services Director and Care Manager with pertinent information for resident assessment and care plan completion.
5. First line of response to emergency call alarm.
6. Attends care conferences to review resident care plan as needed.
7. Maintains an awareness of supply and equipment needs and reports needs to the Care Manager and Health Services Director.
8. Records all relevant data in electronic medical records per facility policy.
9. Report unusual or significant changes in resident appearance or behaviors to Health Services Director and Care Manager.
10. Assists residents with catheter care as indicated.
11. Assist residents during admission, transfer and/or discharge processes.
12. Provides end of life care as indicated.
13. Perform special treatments that fall within the scope of education and training as directed.
14. Demonstrates knowledge of and follows infection control procedures.
15. Assists with meal services, including setting up tables, serving meals and cleaning up the dining room.
16. Assists in maintaining a clean, comfortable and safe environment by providing housekeeping services as needed.
17. Completes scheduled and unscheduled laundry services for each resident.
18. Assists with individual and group social / recreational activities; encourages resident participation in activities.
19. Documents both scheduled and unscheduled care that is provided, in addition to incidents, behaviors, and out of the ordinary events, including a residents’ refusal of services in the electronic medical record.
20. Monitors vital signs as required and documents in the electronic medical record.
The minimum requirements of the position are:
· High School diploma or equivalent.
· Licensed Nursing Assistant in the District of Columbia or equivalent
· Current Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification (will be offered as part of employee orientation)
The physical requirements of the position are:
- Must possess fully functioning sense of sight/hearing or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to allow that job position requirements are fully met.
- Must be able to lift, carry, stand, bend, squat, crawl, reach, kneel, push, pull, and twist using good body mechanics for sustained periods of time.
- Must be able to lift/push up to 50 pounds.
- Stand and walk for long periods of time.
- Must be in good general health and demonstrate emotional stability to cope with the physical and emotional stress of the position.
- Potential exposure to bodily fluids, infection, odors, and resident behaviors.

Pay: From $18.00 per hour
