Certified Surgical Technologist-BESLC Job at Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston
Boston Eye Surgery & Laser Center (BESLC) has a great opportunity open for a Certified Surgical Technologist for our Boston surgery center.
Schedule: 20 hours per week; 10 hour shifts no weekends or call
The Surgical Technologist will directly assist the surgeon, with the guidance of the circulating registered nurse, in rendering professional care to patients undergoing ophthalmic surgical procedures. Functions cooperatively within the surgical team. Maintains strict aseptic technique during set up, draping and during surgical procedure. Follows OR procedure for proper decontamination of instruments, equipment and room turnover.
Qualifications:
- Surgical Technologist certification required
- Graduated from a Surgical Technologist program
- Covid Vaccination/Booster required
- One or more years of related work experience in operating room preferred
- Strong communication skills
- Maintains Basic Cardiac Life Support certification
- Membership in surgical specialty society encouraged
- Maintains and complies with patient confidentiality and integrity policy on all matters
Physical Demands:
Frequent tasks: lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, handling, reaching, and twisting of weights ranging from light to heavy at heights from the foot to above the head. Ability to manipulate small instruments.
Mobility: walking up to 8-10 hours, standing 3-8 hours, stooping, bending, balancing, climbing, crouching, and sitting.
