Reporting directly to the Vice President, the Chief Estimate is the lead member of the estimating and pre-construction team. This individual manages and coordinates the team, and other resources to perform the estimating function.

Responsibilities:

• Perform quantity take-offs, analysis, estimates, and studies for all items incorporated.
• Develop clear and accurate scope documents for design/build projects.
• Take lead role in lump sum bids.
• Review drawing, specifications and all other construction documents. Make senior management aware of design-related problems, completeness of documents and other potential risks.
• Work in conjunction with applicable stakeholders to ensure that detailed general conditions/requirements (GC/GR) estimates are prepared, and reviewed as needed.
• Responsible for value engineering process during preconstruction for relevant projects.
• Communicates with owners, partners, representatives, architects, and consultants.
• Engage in presentations as necessary.
• Mentor and develop the estimating team.
• Establish and cultivate subcontractor and vendor relationships.
• Analyze and assemble cost data, unit prices, historical costs, and information that can be developed and used as a database for future projects.
• Evaluate and analyze subcontractor proposals.
• Maintain strong and positive relationships with operations and field teams.

Requirements:

• Extensive experience in construction estimating, minimum 5 years in lead estimator role.
• In-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials and building codes.
• Strong understanding of contractual agreements.
• Ability to work with minimum information and quickly develop an understanding of the owner/architect requirements.
• Strong leadership, decision-making and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $125,000.00 per year
