A Chief Transformation Officer (CTO) brings experience in leading dramatic improvements at organizations, instilling in teams the ability and determination to improve everything that matters, at every level. As a “change leader”, the CTO is responsible for helping clients rethink their operating model and conventional wisdom, a driving force working side-by-side with clients to power large-scale, rapid and enduring growth and all-encompassing reinvention. It’s a dedicated, radical partnership unlike any other, where success is measured against a client’s most audacious goals.
- Providing program management of the overall transformation effort, working in conjunction with responsible line leaders and the corporate staff
- Supporting target setting and owning any revisions or changes to the targets or the plans that support achieving the targets
- Providing on-going performance management of workstream sponsors, workstream leaders and initiative owners on the successful execution of the transformation
- Supporting a successful transformation, ensuring a “clean sheet”, best-in-class approach to all functions
- Providing senior leaders with coaching, insights and challenge on the tactics and pathways they need to adopt to meet their ambitious targets.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of work experience; prior experience as a consultant in a professional services firm preferred
- Advanced degree, preferably an MBA or master’s degree
- CXO level leader with previous experience in turning companies or large divisions around.
- Experience leading major performance uplift/ turnaround efforts in corporations that are >$1B in revenue and geographically diverse
- Has led turnaround cases in both line as well as in interim management roles (CRO, COO, CFO, GM of large (> $1B) Business Unit)
- Experience and expertise driving rapid and successful operational turnarounds across key strategic, revenue, cost and working capital levers
- Has a foundation in operations and/or finance; must be fluent in P&L, balance sheet structure and terminology, and able to critique business plans / operational plans / capital plans / working capital management
- Expertise in Commercial (e.g., go-to-market, pricing) and/or Cost (e.g., Operations, SG&A) functional areas with proof points on delivering results; industry leader in specific domains (e.g., publications, conference speaker)
- Extensive experience working on C-Suite team and ability to manage complex stakeholders (e.g., Board of Directors, top-tier suppliers, investor relations, customer key accounts)
