What you will do in this role:
You will be responsible for assessing the developmental and psychosocial needs of the pediatric patients and families.
You will be planning and implementing therapeutic interventions on an inpatient and outpatient basis.
You will be supporting the mission of our hospital of optimizing the quality of life of all those served bu expanding beyond the traditional focus on medical needs to the needs of the whole person.
Requirements:
Graduate of an accredited College/University with a Bachelor’s Degree in elementary education, psychology, human development or other related field
Successful completion of 600 hours internship in child life program
BLS certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
Previous experience preferred with basic understanding of children’s illnesses, medical terminology and supervisory skills
Ability to communicate and interact with pediatric and adolescent population and their families
Proficient in knowledge of growth and development of the pediatric population
