Child Watch – Saugus YMCA
Position Summary:
Hours may vary, but our Child Watch is open Tuesday-Thursday from 5:00pm-7:00pm and Saturdays from 8:00am-11:00am. Hours may increase in the fall!
Additional hours available if interested in teaching youth enrichment classes such as arts and crafts, youth sports, music & movement, dance, etc.
Pay range: $14.25 to $16.00
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for working in the Child watch room during hours of operation.
- Everyday duties could include planning crafts for older children, playing pretend with younger children, coloring, reading, etc.
- Provides communication with parents/guardians about pertinent child watch room information.
- Awareness and adherence to all program policies and procedures as outlined in employee handbook
- Maintains program room and equipment.
- Manages a clean room and toys on a weekly basis.
- Attends and participates in family nights, program activities, staff meetings, and staff trainings at the Saugus Y facility.
Qualifications:
- At least 16 years of age.
- Childcare or Babysitting experience is preferred.
- CPR, First Aid, AED certifications within 3 months of hire. (Training provided if needed)
- Child Abuse prevention training within 30 days of hire date. (Training provided)
