This is a seasonal position. The projected dates for this position is November 10, 2022 to December 31, 2022.

Position Title: Christmas Assistant (full-time - non-exempt)
Department: Juneau Corps
Reports To: Corps Officer
Scope of Position:
The Christmas Assistant is responsible for all aspects of the day-to-day operations of the Christmas Kettle Fundraising Program. This will include, but is not limited to, scheduling and supervision of staff and volunteers as well as the placement and collection of red kettles.
Minimum qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Computer skills, minimum of Windows, Access Program desirable.
- Current Alaska driver’s license with acceptable driving and criminal history records
- Must have the ability to relate positively to people from diverse backgrounds and communicate well with the general public.
- Ability to use basic office machines/equipment.
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office, specifically Word &
Responsibilities:
- Counting the kettles by running the coin counter, copying checks and overall kettle counting assistance.
- Picking & Dropping off Kettles.
- Ensure all equipment (signs, stands, kettles, bells, aprons) are clean and in good working
- Preparing and dropping off bank deposits.
- Updating the donor records.
- Enter data as needed into the Salvation Army Christmas Programs.
- Assist with tracking Kettle workers income and hours worked.
- Working with potentials volunteers to find the best area of service.
- Scheduling shifts and communicating effectively with Kettle Workers and Volunteers.
- Assisting with seasonal personnel records.
- Aiding in Angel Tree, Adopt-A-Family working with families and companies.
- General filing and office procedures associated with the Christmas season.
- Answer incoming phone calls.
- Opening and sorting the incoming mail (scanning and copying).
- Greeting office visitors.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Ability to walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, run, jump, and twist on an intermittent and sometimes continuous basis. Ability to lift 50lbs at a time.

Performance Skills: Must be punctual, organized, self-motivated, flexible, and possess a desire to learn and assist those he/she interacts with.
Protect the Mission: Must complete the online course for this area and pass the Background Checks required by The Salvation Army for employment.
